Smile Melbourne Australia DJ's from 70's/80s - a question!

This post relates to anyone who may know of a Dj who played in the late 70's through to the late 80's in Melbourne Australia.

The reason? Well in 1998 I was fortunate enough to come across a huge and impressive record collection of mostly imported 12" singles, mainly disco and some early 80's club stuff and all in great condition. I was lucky enough to have been friendly with a guy who worked in a secondhand record store at the time. He knew the sort of stuff I was into and gave me the first crack at buying from this newly arrived collection. This was just before the "boom" in old 12" disco and really the guy had no idea of the worth of such records - which was all cool by me :)

There was some great stuff in there - including rarities like early west end, prelude and salsoul 12"s. Even a mint copy of Sesso Matto on 12", which i later sold for $300 on ebay! Not bad for a $1 investment really. Currently I've got about 5000 12" singles and i reckon about a third of these came from this persons collection.

I'm keen to find out who this person was - I say "was" as apparantly the reason why this collection was sold off is becuse he died tragicaly in what I believe was a car accident. What I do know is that he played regularly at the Peel Hotel in Melbourne, which is still one of the city's prime gay venues. This explains i guess the quality of the collection.

So anyway I was wondering if anyone knew this person or had any information as to who this might have been. I owe a lot of listening pleasure to his (or her) memory and it would be great to find out a little more information.

cheers
