| I'm constantly seeing the Ibiza name on current dance CD compilations. I realize it's an island off the coast of Spain and it's a big resort spot. What's the importance of Ibiza to the current dance music? Is it because lots of new stuff is broken there by DJ's or what? Just curious for some of the Euro crowd to inform me. Thanks.

| Jussi and Giovanni should certainly be able to shed some light on this. I'm pretty sure that Jussi mentioned Ibiza in his book "Saturday Night Forever." As for me, the first time I heard of ibiza in the musical sense was during the New Beat days of the late 1980's.

| Listen, I've reached the age of 40 and going to Ibiza now would be unthinkable. Ibiza was always about total excess - going to your hotel from the airport to change into clubwear, hopping into a taxi, having a drink in Ibiza harbour watching the sun go down, and then heading to Pacha or whatever the club du jour was. You'd jump until daylight and then move to the beach to dance in the sun until the evening. Then start it all over again and do it for a week. Or two. - The music was first funk during the mid 70's 2whn I first went with my mum (!!!), then disco and then what became known as Balearic - house, indie rock and handbag disco vibes in one. And the amount of drugs on the island was staggering - why interpol or something like that never descended there and just cleaned the place up was a miracle. It's not any different there today, so if you fell like "havin'it" or how does the saying go, go ahead! Capri was a bit more refined and still is today - even Tom Cruise has a residence there now. I won't repeat what some of my gay friends on the island have told me about the Star... |

| The first time I heard about Ibiza was in a 1970's paperback book about two cool, fun loving girls who meet and travel across Europe together. That's the first time I ever heard about youth hostels, too. I think the girls become lovers in Ibiza, the most decadent place either of them had ever been. Sex, sex, and more sex and drugs galore, but it was also the most beautiful place they had ever seen. I longed to live the life of those two girls and travel to Ibiza. I loved that cheesy book and wish I knew the name of it. Boodikka, any ideas? Anyway, the next time I heard about Ibiza was in a magazine article that showed a picture of dancers in an Ibiza club covered in foam. It was the latest thing at the time to have these foam machines flood the dance floor and cover the dancers until you could barely see them. That image reminded me of the book. It's great to read Jussi's comments as someone who was there! |

| I'd often hear about Ibiza when I'd visit Brasil during the disco days. It sounded like the only spot that could compete with Rio or Sao Paolo for .......entertainment. i rmember seeing the idiotic film WILD AND BEAUTIFUL IN IBIZA my senior year of college, as stupid as it was, I was intrigued about the place. Years later, one of the Playboy Channel documentary shows gave the real deal on Ibiza....then I REALLY wanted to go. Lean, that book sounds vaguely familiar to me...let me investigate on Planet. Jussi, if you share some Tom Cruise nasties with us, I'll share some Nicole Kidman goodies with you  _________________ I'm a goddess, I'm a hooker....I'm a blue movie.... [ This Message was edited by: Boodikka on 2001-12-28 15:21 ] |

| Jussi & Boodi, Make sure you cc me on any celebrity gossip! Especially regarding Tom (I'm Not GAY) Cruise & Nicole (Ice Princess) Kidman. I have heard more stories about Tom since I moved to LA and started working in show biz, but I have no proof of anything. I do have a theory on why they divorced, but of course, it's unprovable. That subject may be the next Kennedy Assasination Conspiracy Theory here in LA. Control-freak Tom ain't gonna let nobody know his bizness!!!

| Goddess Boodikka, Ya got evidence? Incriminating photos? Do tell!!! I think they have sex with people and have them killed immediately. Sorta like spiders. All I can say is, if it's not true, I have never seen a longer list of people who swear it is, and have tales to tell. Yet no proof exists, at least that hasn't been silenced, hushed, snuffed, or put on the payroll. I, for one, would love to see it all exposed.

| Any church of scientology spies here ready to bounce on anyone telling on Tom? Who cares. Tom has his Capri mansion off the Via Tiburiana up on the hill , and he arrives with an entourage of smartly dressed gentlemen. Apart from some quick visits to the nearby lemon grove restaurants they hide within the confines of the villa. Nicole is never present - she probably spends her time harrassing the people working on the endless redecorations in her house in LA (she tells them to turn against the wall whenever she moves thru the room - no eye contact at any time ). Anyway, back to Capri -I'm being informed that Tom likes nothing better than a big fat black dick up his arse. So there, I've said my piece...now what about Nicole!? |

| Jussi, I'm speechless. YOU SAID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for that. I'm rolling on the floor in hysterics! God, are we all gonna be hunted down for the next lawsuit? Will Bert Fields & Pat Kingsley & CAA be sending us Christmas subpoenas?

| If Boodikka is The Goddess, then Jussi just became the The God....of course, now i have to be aware if any Scientology ninjas are going to "hit" me soon. As for Nicole, the Aussie Albino tends to be VERY discreet regarding dancing in Sappho's Garden....her closet is deeper and more secure than old Tom Cruise-y. Unlike the recent Helen Hunt-Mandy Ingber ("Cheers", "The Tortellis") and Portia de Rossi-Francesca Gregorini (Ringo's stepdaughter) revelations, Nicole walks on the wild side more along the lines of Megan Mullalley (who dates a non-celeb hottie bartender in WeHo). So though Nicole does a good job at keeping her stuff quiet, the one celeb name I have linked to hers (about 80% reliable) is Kim Delaney (NYPD Blue). Speaking of Delaney, is Susan Lucci the ONLY straight actor/actress from the early '80s "All My Children"?

| Oh yes, the "no eye-contact" thingie that Jussi mentioned: that's a 100% confirmation....the Cruisey/Kidgloves clan went to DisneyWorld and tried to run the same number on the employees there..... BTW, I understand Russel Crowe as Nicole's merkin.....but Penelope Cruz as Tom's beard? She's more butch than he is! _________________ I'm a goddess, I'm a hooker....I'm a blue movie.... [ This Message was edited by: Boodikka on 2001-12-22 09:42 ] |
