Default Dance Music Versus Classic Disco.......Is There Really A Difference?

In many threads, posts, etc. in this forum, we have discussed Disco's birth, rise to fame and glory, and it's eventual death. We have also been discussing whether just the name and the fad/trend during the 70's died, or did Disco die completely? Do you guys really like the modern dance music? Would you like to see a resurgence or return of classic disco? Or maybe you think that dance music stations should have classic disco in their formats; I do, I would love to see all dance music played from classic disco up to the present modern dance music.

Most of us agree that 70's disco did not die, but changed it's name, and later evolved as years passed. In my opinion, there is no real difference between Disco, the first real "dance" music, and today's dance music. It's Disco but it is disco evolved, to fit the many generations since 70's disco passing up until today's generation.

I am Moderator and Owner of a Yahoo Group called dance music international; I would love for y'all to infiltrate it and add a "disco touch" to it. If you guys infiltrate it to the point of taking it over, I will change the name but ensure that it entertains all dance music fans, from disco to present modern dance.

That being said, is there really a difference? Would love to hear everyone's take on this subject of this thread.
