Collage and Switch - Are they Disco or Funk

Hey Guys how would you classify the groups Collage and Switch (with elder DeBarge siblings Bobby and Tommy)? I would consider them funk bands however some folks say they are disco? Oh well what do you all think.

I would consider them R&B/soul which is a catchall for Black soulful music. Both groups did ballads and post disco uptempo songs that received airplay.

True funk was raw and from the early 70's like the JBs. Funk later blended into electro-funk like Lakeside or Cameo which actually became the most popular funk-related sound.
