I saw Fleetwood Mac in concert way back when with Little feet and Dave Mason. Mason was the headliner.

Just let me explain why I open these topics (coz' I really got furious about what happened a few days ago).

1.Sometimes songs are by artists who jumped on the Disco-bandwagon and I'm curious how these records are recieved by all the different-tasted-members here.

2.Sometimes a song works very well in a classic Disco-set and then I test it by posting it under the "Is This Disco" concept.

3.Sometimes a song is considered Disco in Europe but not in the UK, Us or Asia. Just wanna find that out.

4.Sometimes I'm surprised by the fact that this or that tune is considered Disco and a pretty similar record is not although they have the same pattern. Then I post it.

5.Why do I post so many? YouTube is under fire right now and on daily basis links are deleted so I'm trying to give everyone here the opportunity to watch the vid before it is taken of air. And sometimes this already happens after a few days. That's why I welcome so much the efforts of other members here who also check YT and post the links.

What I can NOT stand is that instead of doing a little homework themselves and share something with all of us here, 2 guys mean they're funny by opening ridiculous nonsense-threads with the only purpose of ridiculising others here.

If people reply by saying "how the hell can you find this Disco????" and give arguments then they are participating and that's the purpose of a forum!

Don't be narrowminded, be open to other interpretations of Disco and don't follow the flock!

Over the last months we've seen a lot of new members here who are sharing their taste, personal history and views with us and refresh the board by doing this. This is a great thing so let's be open to eachother, respect eachother and don't limit this worlwide board to a few artists or interpretations.

Example: for most members "Disco Duck" is a shame. To me and f.i. Remicks it is not, coz' when you take the effort to listen to the instrumental B-side (A Tom Moulton Mix BTW) and you clear your mind you maybe have to admit that it isn't that bad at all.

VS, your forum "Is This Disco" is very good and insightful. And there are some of us on this forum who don't want to step on your toes.

In fact, as I said earlier this week, I am always waiting for you to get some of these acts. In return, you open up our eyes to acts we don't know.

But, I was waiting for you to do Nicolete Larson, only to read that you had not heard of her or the song before. And it is a lovely song.

I guess I should chime in (even more than I do?) with what I wonder if it is disco or not.

But whether something is disco or not, even the big clubs would throw out a few songs, more of the radio pop or novelty variety. It was the break you would need to change up the atmosphere and cut through the disco beat. And to freshen your drink and have a smoke.

Maybe you like it 'cause you never heard or know how it was used here in America, some smart ass top forty radio Djs used it to mock us ( Disco Heads) by playing this song and singing along out of tune on the air.

The term (tittle) became an insult when you were called a "Disco duck". for instance Rock Head Hippie assholes rednecks many times will walk by (from a near Rock club)and could tell by our appearance that we were going to a Disco, so they will turn around and call you a Disco Duck :evil::evil:as an insult. A couple of them are probably still sporting the broken nose I (and friends) gave them!!! fuck 'em!!!

You can also put the blame on Weezy Jefferson, who called George a "disco duck" when he caught the disco fever in a 1979 episode of The Jeffersons.
