Hola jcadena. My spanish is bad though I try :D
There are several members here who do speak spanish. In fact one lives in Mexico City but I haven't seen him around here lately.
Have fun :D

Please understand that English is the only language allowed in postings so even if you find someone here who speaks Spanish you won't be able to post that way. Non English posts are deleted.

Yes, It’s not so easy to speak english for me too being slavonic. I was not bad pupil at school, but, anyway, know english only in school-course-volume. Well, beeing russian, I’m only trying to speak english, but I can’t think in english-speaking way. I’m thinking in russian, so my english language sounds like russian in english words. Spanish, I mean, is near to english, because has the same latin base.

The main is to understand, than to say. For example, I have a prob in using english sequences of tenses and the right order of words in sentence, but every time I know that, I’ll be understood by people, which having real knowledge in english. If William Shakespeare’s representing is understood, so much the better for me is to be understood by them too. :)

But english, (all exuses from me!) is more easy comparing with russian: has only 2 cases, but russian has 6. And in the past tense russian, like french, has genders in verbs. When changing the order of words and intonation, the same sentence can mean absolutely another sense too. And what a really prob to make the declension of numerals and, speaking friendly, not so many russians can do it in a right way :). I told it to You, only to show, that I’m in more deeper difficulties here than You. But I’m staying here. So don’t left here the place and have the colloquial practice too.;-)

P.S.: I’m one of the recent members here too, have not many posts yet, and so, the replies too. Maybe my english is, anyway, poor and I’m in misunderstanding in that way. But, maybe, the prob is, that I came here not to trade, but to talk and to know much more about the music that I love. Or, maybe, people here doesn’t feel the difference between Soviet and Russian. Yes I’m “old” russian, it doesn’t mean that I’m Soviet, but it means that I’m kind and honest, like every real Russian man. It’s our deep national feature – the base of our Russian soul and heart: we haven’t any enemies abroad, but only inside us. That’s are the real Russians! You’ll never see so beautiful places anywhere like they are in Russia – Russia is very large and different and, believe me, has magic nature! Deeper than -30 degrees in winter and higher than +30 degrees in summer at Moscow, the capital, where I’m living – how wide! And what to say about the other part of my land! Yes, we’re all living hard times here and today, but the times will change. But we were, we are, and will be real Russians! Grief will absolutely left from inside us – this is future, and no any another future for us. And the last thing: if You have the friend, the Russian friend, it means, that You will have him until the end of Your days. He will never betray You in any circumstances and will hold You and stay with You until the end. That’s true about real Russians like we’re!

And absolutely the last thing to say: I love my Motherland, but hate the State, where I’m living. Motherland means Freedom, but State means the Power, feel the difference!

Post Re: I'm a new member

Hello Fellow Music Lovers and Bernie
I had joined here many years ago and lost touch. Back when Bernie did the original 500 top Disco List I was in there voting. Lost touch and lost my password it's been that long. This site has evolved so much since then and it's so amazing to see how far it's come. The clubs section was not here then and I went and looked up quite a few that I went to. To see DJ's
and see the memories posted from back then really put me on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Like, Gee! It's really been that long
Unfortunate for me I lost All my beloved vinyl in a nasty breakup.
The ex got in his car and just drove and as he was driving kept throwing them out of the window. Must have been a long drive! Thank goodness for the digital age I got it all back and then some. Thanks to this site and all of you. You are all my #1 DJ!
Don't Stop The Music
Warmest Regards
DiscoDiva

Heeyyyyyy~
Thanks for the WB. ;) You can't imagine how "broken up" I was when he had the nerve to tell me he actually did that. He knew how much those records meant to me. So beware LOL....no nasty breakups.
I remember making a tape and I had records on the floor and I stepped on one. It cracked and I replaced it to the tune of 9.00 from a place in NYC.
Ouch! That was early 80's. Yup, that one turned into a flying saucer too. Now I keep it simple with digital, and I have backups of backups just to be safe.
