Hi Bernie and everyone else. I received the Gloria Gaynor "i never knew" cd single.
The cd has 3 versions of her latest single. The ballad version is typical of todays musical style. In others words, the instrumentation sounds programmed. Her voice is the only thing that saves this version for me.
The radio edit which is the dance uptempo version is better. While the instrumentation still sounds programmed, the song comes off better in this style.
Finally the S.A.F. radio edit, as it's called, is to my ear the best rendition. Gloria seems to exercise a little more of her vocal range. This along with a little more thought in arrangement makes this the superior version to me. Anyway, that's my take. Oh, by the way, the live version of "I Will Survive" on this cd is still a winner.

No problem Blaxman. I guess we all agree the best version of her new song was the last one on that cd.
