Exclamation Rare Costandinos: "Combien Je T'aime"-Video

This is by French singer Ajda Pekkan and is actually a French version of Love & Kisses' "You're The Most Precious Thing Of My Life". Great DISCOvery, I didn't even hear it ever!!!

How interesting! I love stuff sung in French; I prefer the French version of Telex's 'Moskow Diskow'. It sounds much sexier.8)

I started a new thread about this last week and it got completely ignored by everyone
http://www.discomusic.com/forums/dis...standinos.html

She is Turkish, not French, and has been recording for about 40 years!

I saw it darrens & I didn't ignore it, honest! When I was in NYC last year there was a sreet market in Chelsea & a stall was playing what they advertised as 'Turkish disco' & I remember thinking how it sounded a bit like Costandinos' stuff!

I didn't notice it, sorry mate, and I'm mad coz' that way I missed a Costandinos-thread.

All praise to Darrens for this one :D BTW, she seems to be a very big star in Turkey.

Does anybody know if she has put out more Costandinos-stuff?

That's okay, I'll let you and sandradee off. :-) I also suspect I know how you found out about it, via DJ Jimmy M, who I emailed about it!

Jimmy has managed to download some of Ajda's other LPs, he reckons that some of it sounds Costandinos-like. Whether that is true or not has yet to be found out.

No, it was not Jimmy. On YOUTUBE I work with tags and I'm a member there. Usually when I find something interesting I first go via the search-function on this board. I did not make the connection between Turkish Disco and Sir Alec.

Plus, it was a very recently uploaded video, so I was pretty sure it wasn't already posted. But I was wrong , very wrrrong.

Keep looking for a real Costandinos video, coz' they exist, with him fronting Love & kisses. I've seen a few over the years, it was filmed before the Eiffel tower in Paris but they seem to be very rare. Maybe Jimmy can get a copy of it.

Did any of you see the video of the late french-egyptian singer Dalida and her version of 'Americana' produced by Alec(on You Tube)?
'Americana' was Alec's farewell to disco and his 'swan song' on rca records (as if you guys didn't know that
Album was poor but I kinda liked 'Americana' and his vocals on that track, but I think Dalida's version is better

Yes Videoskooter,

I saw this clip end of the seventies, with Alec and the Bird of Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower miming 'I've found love'

Amen to symphonic disco,
Pat

Exactly, but where has that clip gone? I've searched for months on different Video sites and it is untraceable. I remember seeing it again a few years ago on Antenne 2 during a tribute show to Disco.
