I remember when Jive Bunny's "Swing The Mood" was a hit here in the US in late '89-early '90, around the time "Lambada" was all over the radio and on TV. I used to turn the radio dial whenever I'd hear Chubby Checker singing, "C'mon everybody!" to the music.

Jive Bunny? pass the sick bag, they where not exactly doing any thing original with these Mix/Medleys. Bootleg mixes with the original artists where around before that including the legendary "Bits and pieces" series. I have a "Studio 54" mix on 12" which is a knockout.

I need some help, dear people.

As I remember, one day in 1983 summer I watched TV and saw the program about The Beatles. And remembering, how some parts of the Beatles Medley made by Stars On 45 were shown too. I remember only the TV-scene where English policeman shouting: “1-2-3-4!” and than the medley begins to play next thing, called “No Reply”. Today, sometimes, I think that it was my only sleep-dream, because from those times I can’t find the whole this program anywhere. Was such movie-clip really existed, or maybe I’m going mad? :)

I've always been more of a Hooked On Classics type.

But I admit to owning all these albums:oops: (as mentioned for weddings, reunions, etc.) And playing them for my own guilty pleasures.

Stars on 45 was originally known as The Leeves. I have the original US 12 inch and it says that it is based on the bootleg mix Bits & Pieces III.

I sort of remember there was also a European release, also known as The Leeves.

Does anyone know?

PS I also own all the Hooked on Classics, Hooked on Rock Classics, Hooked on Swing and Hooked on Broadway. Was there any doubt.

I owned them too but didn't really like them; everyone else was buying em and the DJ's were playing em; so I had them too. They were danceable, but hadn't we heard all of those songs before in their time?

Great stuff! Dutch producer Jaap Eggermont admitted that he got the idea from a bootleg that used illegal excerpts of the original songs. Eggermont hired voice-imitators and let them sing the tunes, so it was legal.

Thx for posting that Leeves-record!
