| ***** Who in the heck was this guy ?? With that name, one might expect some common rapper .... but thankfully: NOT ! ... :D Most of us probably know his ( IMO wonderful ) DANCING ALL OVER THE WORLD created with Gino Soccio . But what about this one : JUST A LIITLE MISUNDERSTADING ??? ..........Don't you love it when you just ... "oh what the heck" .....throw on some record that's floating around and you wind up with a "WOW " !!! Well this has turned out to be one of those !! :D From that first piano note on ..... it has the disco flavor I most enjoy : Upbeat , energetic (happy) ..... It's a remake of the Stevie Wonder song so its got strong Motown overtones and Busta's gruff yet uplifting vocals sound KC at times and also Al Green and by the end its total Otis Redding 8)..... Released in 1980 ...I don't believe it did too well .... probably too throw back at that point with its punctuating strings and horns , prominent female chorus , tambourine, piano .... But now , free from the dismissive attitudes of those times .... who cares ... it sounds great !!!! It's joyously elevating ...the perfect companion to my ( strong ) AM coffee !!! ....now on play # 5 and about ready for #6 :roll:8) Recommended !!!! I almost forget a most important part ... I didn't review the label before playing this ....so what a delight to have liked it ....then go back and read that it was produced by Bob Eli .....of TSOP /Harris Machine fame .....Eli is currently going strong on Marky's summer 1976 chart with a couple of his projects : the groups Impact and Eli's Second Coming ....8)8)8) Well .... Busta Jones worked with Gino Soccio and Bob Eli ..... neither being small potatoes ... .... so he must have a story .....????? ****

| Buster Jones - Just a little misunderstanding-is an old favourite of mine,i have it on a Spring 12". The original version is by the Contours in 1967. Dennis Edwards was with them at the time. |

| 'Busta' Jones gave bass lessons to Talking Heads' bassist Tina Weymouth, and then played with the band in the 'Remain in light' tour in 1980 (David Byrne called him behind Tina's back, causing some tension within the band). He probably was part of Tom Tom Club too, but you should check this. I recently got myself a copy of a show of that tour, filmed by an Italian TV crew. It has also Adrian Belew in guitar, Bernie Worrell in keyboards, Steve Scales on percussion and the marvelous Dolette McDonald in backing vocals. Judging for this material, this must have been one of the best rock tours of all time.8) Busta and Tina play together. He appears to be a very good bass player in the slap style, with a thick funk sound.

| I'm also a big fan of the song DANCING ALL OVER THE WORLD , funny that it is the B side on the 12 inch I have. Does anyone know why this is so? Regards, Westy. "Get the funk outta my face" |

| There's a CD out on BGP called 'The New York Sound' featuring a Busta Jones track 'Keep On Making Me Hot'. It's a strange CD 'cos half the tracks are early examples of hip-hop/electro but there are also disco/boogie tracks by Fatback, Rainbow Brown (Patrick Adams written & produced), Fonda Rae & Players Association.
