I bought 3 of his albums and LOVED many of the songs (especially "You're a Good Girl" and "Trust Me"). I noticed many of the songs had a bass heavy sound that reminded me of Change, and I checked the credits and found some of the Change musicians also performed on some of these songs. But, just like Change, Thomas' recordings are almost as difficult to find (in my area) as theirs are, and not a single one of his recordings in listed in it's entirety on CD on Tower Records web site. Anyone have any info? Thanks.

I have a 12" of his called "You're Love's Got A Hold On Me." Has a Kashif style production to it. It was fairly popular in the clubs in the early '80s.

There was an early Greatest hits CD on Brunswick that was latered reiussed with bonus tracks and it pulls from all 3 of his Lps. Many soul artist's Lps are out of print or have never been put on CD and are only available on compilation. Try to find Tavares on RCA or Melba Moore on Epic. I feel your pain!!!!

I agree, many soul artists are difficult to find on vinyl (at times), I think your particular location plays a big factor in what's available to you. For example the artists listed above. Lillo Thomas - looked for years for those 3 albums, couldn't find them, until about 5 years ago, within the course of a year all 3 popped up in the used vinyl bins. Melba Moore - never that difficult to find, even now I come across most of her LP's from the late 70's to mid 80's in the bargain bins Tavares, on the other hand was difficult to find, I'm still missing at least 2 or 3 of their LP releases. Now in regards to Lillo, you'll find his sound to be similar to Kashif, Paul Laurence, Melba Moore and Freddie Jackson as they were all somewhat affiliated with Hush Productions and usually seemed to contribute to each others LP.

No- I'm talking Melba Moore on Epic on CD and Tavares on RCA on CD!! Totally impossible except for a few Tavares tracks on compilation. On 33, they are as common as the workday is long.
