Default Peter Brown on TK and P&P - One or Two Different People?

Does anyone know if Peter Brown of Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me is the same Peter Brown who co-produced artists on the P&P label, or are they two different people? According to allmusicguide they are the same people. But it strikes me as odd that Peter Brown would record himself on the TK label while producing other artists on the New York P&P label.

Two very different people. Peter Brown of TK Records fame is white and sang his works. Peter Brown who worked with Patrick Adams is a black man who hails from New York City and never sang, but was a producer/arranger.

I went through my record collection and found several artists/producers who produced artists on several different labels. Examples: Luther Vandross, Ashford and Simpson, Gregg Diamond, KC (of the Sunshine Band), Giorgio Moroder, Narada Michael Walden, Quincy Jones to name just a few. But speaking of labels, I've never heard of the P+P label....

Thanks for clearing that up. I suspected they were two different people, but I just needed to make sure. Anytime I read a write-up about P&P records and Peter Brown, there was never any clarification like "not Peter Brown of TK Records fame".
