Default Duncan Sisters "Sadness In My Eyes"

On a slightly cheesy note, I am really into this song as of late (I am embracing more of the late 70's disco sound..that harder, prodcuer focused stuff). I know "Boys Will Be Boys" was their "hit", but did this get any play in the clubs? Seems like a bit of a twirler :)

Boys Will Be Boys got lots of late night play at a club I frequented in 78-80: the Backlot in Calgary (AB). It was a perfect for us disco boys. I remember the day I bought the album at Records On Wheels on 8th Avenue like it was yesterday. Still love that tune!

"Sadness In My Eyes" was a BIG hit in one particular club in South Florida, even moreso than "Boys Will Be Boys". It seems like it didn't do so great elsewhere. The DJ would always skip the beginning part where one of the Duncan Sisters is talking and mix right into the first verse. I always loved that song.

Billboard charted Sadness In My Eyes/ Boys Will Be Boys for 19 weeks on the 1979 Disco chart, peaking at #8-- oddly, I don't remember these tunes from back then; only acquired them recently!!!

"Sadness In My Eyes," "Outside Love" and "Boys Will Be Boys" are, for me, the best songs on the LP.. Classic THP productions, all three of them.. The other songs, eh.. not so much.

I'd love to know as well...I have only got the crappy vinyl rip, and a edit of Boys Will Be Boys.

I'd like to see more THP stuff on CD...not just THP Orchestra and Sticky Fingers.

I just received the WE LOVE DISCO 3 cd compilation from Almighty Records (thanks JH).

Sadness In My Eyes is on Disc 2...it's in a mix, however... (around 6:35 timing)...now Almighty mixes original mixes with remixes and cover versions--but the Duncan Sisters sounded like the original without the house beats they add to some of the others.
