Default Anyone familiar with the Bruton Library?

I was just curious if anyone here knew what it was. Or even the De Wolfe library too. I had a few questions about them, but I'll wait to ask until I know that I am not posting in the wrong forum lol.

I have about 8 LPs from the Bruton Library, which I obtained back in the late '70s when I was trying to set up a radio production facility. I also have a few DeWolfe CDs from later on. Don't ask me anything else, 'cos I don't know where they are and I may well have thrown them away a few months back.

My own personal thoughts are that the people who collect these things are somewhat missing the point. They were deliberately made to sound like popular tunes or styles of the day and although some may be extremely funky or sound authentically Disco, they are more or less plagiarizing legitimate releases. The guys who made them were/are extemely clever.

Oh, well now that I know you are familiar with them, I just had a few questions:

What is it? Is it a CD of just various songs that are similiar in style or tune?

Are the majority of Bruton songs rare or uncommon?

And then I have like three songs that are part of the Libraries; maybe you've heard of them?

De Wolfe:
Al Foster Band- Night Of The Wolf
F. McDonald & C. Rae- Party People

Bruton:
Some song called "Hydropower"

Bruton & De Wolfe produce(d) library music.

Just in case there's anyone else who doesn't know what Library music is, it's the music that you might hear beneath radio adverts, as station idents or as incidental music in TV and films. They are normally produced with specific themes in mind e.g. uplifting, sentimental, light-hearted, corporate, powerful, funky or whatever. They are/were normally produced as standard lengths e.g. 5 seconds, 15, seconds, 30 seconds, 45 seconds etc and occasionally they are whole tracks of say 2 minutes 30 seconds and are structured in such a way that they can be cut into useable lengths for adverts etc. There would have been countless hundreds of LPs full of this type of music produced over the years. The best funk/dance tracks I ever heard was from the Ded Good music library, but they were more modern fully electric tracks.

Some guys have found one or two of these in some far flung places and convinced themselves and others that they are worthy dancefloor material. Some have even been re-released on CD compilations, so far as I know.
