Default Melba Moore "Standing Right Here"

Couldn't find an entry for this or Dancing With melba" LP.

Such a smooth, classic track. Very soulful. I wonder how this fared in clubs? Not a real dancefloor pounder but I could see it being a great start of the night song, specially as the breakdown at the end gets a little funkier with the horn stabs and "promised me lovin'"...

Any other fans of melba care to share?

Nice track. My favorite of her's is 'You Stepped Into My Life'. I also really like 'Pick Me Up I'll Dance'. I also enjoy her Van McCoy LPs.

I consider "Standing Right Here" to be a post peak late night or early morning sleaze record.

One of my fav. Melba tracks, those horrns are killer. Wish I had the album, so far I only have it on a compilation called Groove On Down. Her disco records (those I've heard so far) are quite underrated IMO, esp. her "Burn" album (prod. by Pete Bellotte).
