Marky, since you mention that the firm is Disky, are they the original versions coz' that firm has already tricked me a few times with re-recorded stuff and tracks that suddenly have another singer than the version we all know and love. If this is da real thing then it's a box to look out for!

No tricking here vs, these are the originals!!! Mostly T.K., Roulette, Capitol & P&P recordings. Well worth the search!!!

As far as I'm aware they are all original. The Herman Kelly sounds a bit different maybe.

Many short tracks, but these were only out on 7" NOT 12" and quite often the 7" edit was better than the album version.

No real info in the booklet except writers/publishers etc and many of those are not totally correct, but for all of that, this is a compilation that's worth every single penny if you're into some of the earlier disco tracks and haven't already got the P&P releases elsewhere (I do, but hey).

Q, I corrected the errors. It is always interesting how many typos appear on the cd booklets to this reissued stuff. Since I'd never heard of these cuts, Jesse "Could" seemed plausible--but I did wonder about "New York "Movening"!!!!! :lol: :oops:

The Ahzz track is sooooo good, don'cha think? One of the few records that I missed BITD and wished I'd had. Woulda loved to play it in anger and woulda played it TO DEATH!!

So is the earthy, gutsy Chain Reaction - Dance Freak up your street? It ain't no 24 carat production, but I remember Forrrce really diggin' on it and although I liked it BITD and played it a fair amount, I just couldn't stand the distortion of the pressing, which rather spoilt it for me. However, now I have on CD (twice) and it's really grown on me. I guess the sheer exhuberance carries it through. One of those records that you just know they had a real ball making.

QUINNY excuse me for saying this, hmm how can i put it? lets just say sometimes im not believing some things youre sayin',my reason being if we go back 3 years and look at your playlists,cassettes you made in clubs and 3 years on what you say you played now its just something soooooooo different,just pointing it out it all just dosnt add up to me :-?

The number of typos that appear on any CD booklet these days (and for a good while now) is absolutely appalling. It just doesn't appear to be important to check these things any more. Does it matter? Yes it does.

It's almost got to the point where it's impossible to find a CD booklet with no typos on it. Just as a simple experiment I took at random a CD off the shelf behind where I'm sitting while typing this. It was "Jackmaster 5" (a Westside compilation from 1990). Sure enough, there it was... track 4 was listed as "A White Boy.....A Mexican And -[sic] Engineer".

Let's have another try, I thought, so I pick up another one at random. Turns out to be "Dub House Disco The Third - Its[sic] a God Eat God World" (Guerilla, 1994). They put the missing apostrophe in on the CD itself.

I repeat again, it does matter. People should take some pride in producing these things. Where the hell is the quality control? Is it compulsory that people in the music business be illiterate? I can understand that dance music artists might not be the brightest of sparks, but those responsible for packaging should know better.

I reiterate "I liked Chain Reaction - Dance Freak (didn't particularly go overboard about it though) and played it a fair amount, but didn't like the terrible distortion on my 12" copy."
I'll take your comment as a compliment, as I always tried to play different things and as I moved from residency to residency about once every year, I had to play whatever was needed at the venue. Sometimes I landed a place that was fairly upfront, other times it would have been more commercial. I wasn't in a position to only play what I wanted, but my roots were in funkier disco and I always leaned towards that end of the spectrum and newer product. All I ever wanted to do was play music that people danced to, so long as it had some balls and made me wanna jig around too.
So quite easy to explain.

BTW: IT's not very nice to call people liars.
