After the release of El Coco's first album in early 1975 (recorded in late 1974), they came to Brazil to promote their second album (late 1975's BRAZIL /CARAVAN LP), sponsored by our domestic Top Tape label and prime time soul / philly soul / very early disco DJ Big Boy.

Mr. Rinder himself told me that, once here, they almost got jailed after a fight involvement with some hookers.

Can you picture that?

Yes I am.

None of Rinder & Lewis' solo LPs have ever been put out on CD, but you can get an extended version (longer than original LP or 12") of "Lust" on the "Studio 54: The Best of AVI Records" compilation.

The El Coco 'Let's Get It Together' album is available in Japan. There was also a US greatest hits for El Coco. There was also an AVI collection by Hot Productions which had Willie & The Hand Jive (a 5 or 6 minute edit), in addition to the various El Coco and Le Pamplemousse productions. There's a volume of the series called The Breaks that was released by Harmless in the UK with the track 'Phenomena Theme' by In Search of Orchestra. And lastly, the full version of Le Spank by Le Pamplemousse was released as a CD single a while ago by Unidisc. I don't know if its still in print.

It's not, but don't bother looking for it. It was mastered from a cassette and sounds horrible.

Wow! Don't know if you have done a comparison, Graham. But is this a longer version of the lp/12" mix or a completely different remix?

Longer version. It's not a re-edit or a remix, it just continues on for a couple more minutes longer whereas the original LP and 12" faded out at about seven and a half minutes. The full-length version first appeared on a Unidisc multi-artist 12" in the 80s, but with so-so sound quality (distortion on the kick drum).
