[QUINNY]

Referring to Yambu's recording as a remake of the Bobby Hebb track, is a very common misconception. Although the Boney M track is a remake of "Sunny... Yesterday my life was filled with rain...", The Yambu track is an entirely different song; "Sunny... Thank you for your love...

Strange then, that the Yambu track is credited to B. Hebb.

To my ears it's absolutely a remake. maybe they changed some of the lyrics, but the tune is identical.

It's more notable for street smarts, than anything approaching melody, but it's tough enough to get by--with a little help from such pals as Lou Reed.

As I recall, [remember I typed this stuff long ago....] Genya Ravan charted the "Feel The Need In Me" that I wondered about being a cover of the Detroit Emeralds song... I thought someone said it was, but I don't have any proof....so you are saying it is not?--just another song with the same title?

I'm listening to the Ravan 12" right now. It's definitely on De-Lite, and is definitely the Detroit Emeralds song.
I'm also in with you and Quinny on "Sunny." It's the Bobby Hebb number. Kind of the same treatment as the Ritchie Family's "Brazil," where most (if not all) of the lyrics are thrown away and just the melody line remains.
