Hey Guys, just want to add my support to Marky too , I know just providing what I do to the charts takes time, and you have to be in the right frame of mind...so I appreciate the sheer AMOUNT of hard work that Marky is putting in to not only documenting, but analysing and critiquing (?) the records
Don't worry Marky we will always be here whenever the charts appear

DD dearest, what's the point of life if it isn't glamorous? I did go just for RTP but I decided to have a little adventure while I was there so I bought a MUNI pass & discovered lots of SF that I haven't seen before as this was the first time I went on my own so I could please myself where I went & what I did. I didn't bother much with the Castro this time & sampled some bars/nightlife in the Tenderloin area & it was fun, if a tad scary. The first day I walked all the way to the Golden Gate bridge & Baker beach & got blisters on my feet but I really enjoyed it. You must go to a RTP night some time, it's the best night out I've had in years, even though I didn't get a pearl necklace!

....I also did lots of bars & retaurants in the SOMA area & got the ferry to Tiburon which is lovely & went to the restaurant featured in 'The Maltese Falcon' & saw the house used in 'Mrs. Doubtfire' & met a sweet German actor who lives in Pacific Heights & was in 'Amadeus'.....bet you wish you hadn't asked now DD? (I'm turning into a S.F. bore aren't I? )

Hopefully, I will be back in business for disco charts in the near future. I'm getting an internet connection for my home this upcoming weekend and then, my first mission will be to post the October 30, 1976 chart!!!

I've peeked ahead and by the end of the year, the chart steadily grows in positions to around 95 titles on 12/25/76!!! Lotsa obscurities "bubbling under" the Top 40 at the end of 1976!!!

Thanks to Dayna for the support.

and now for the chart news...

I'm back in the disco chart business--finally got the internet connection at home!!!...so this should speed the process!

So I've typed all day today and I'm almost done...except for the "What's It All About?" column... should have it up soon, definitely before Thanksgiving!!!

And now ....THE TEASE!!!!

October 30, 1976

......in disco history.....brings us

1) a new #1!

2) new Donna cracks the Top 10!

3) Top 40 debuts new titles from Love Unlimited Orchestra, Stevie Wonder, KC & The Sunshine Band, Buffalo Smoke + 6 others that have spent some weeks "bubbling under"...

4) "Bubbling Under" debuts from The Emotions, Jerry Rix, The Jacksons, Family Affair, Gabor Szabo, Miami, The Sylvers, Margie Joseph, Arthur Adams & Mud!!!

5) City chart comparisons: Los Angeles/San Diego vs. Montreal...

6) the oddest city choice for a #1 record yet...what would a #1 in Seattle merit as a ranking on the National chart...if no other city was charting this particular record??? [to clarify... #1 in Seattle/ on no other chart/ where would it rank in the National Top 40?]

7) 74 disco chart items + the Top 10 Pop + the Top 10 Soul charts!!!

all will be revealed......
