Default Any fans here of Morris Day & The Time ?

If so , then there's the great news that the original line-up ( ! ) from the eary 80's ( & from the Pandemonium-album ) will do a reunion-performance at the Grammy's this weekend ( Sunday or Monday-night ) ... i'm having my funk-radar projected 2nite

Enjoy the show !

BoogyJ: yes, I am a big fan of the Time. And I'm glad you mentioned this, as it reminds me that I want to make a personalized compilation of my favorite Time tracks. They made some stunners, but they seemed to have a bit of trouble making a consistently strong album....odd, with so many talented musicians and songwriters in the same band.

Hey Cory ... "what time is it ?" ... and you're welcome ;)

Yep , with Jamie Starr mostly on the controls in the beginning , their work on their own seems kinda hit & miss ... but when performing live , they clear the floor for shure !
I've seen them perform twice and they totally ripped the stage ... especially when they abrubtly started to mix a wild version of "My Drawers" in their set.
There used to be a performance of the original line-up on YouTube , appearing at Saturday Night Live ( around the Pandemonium-release ). They played "Jerk Out" and "Chocolate" ... that intro of "Jerk Out" ( before & during Morris & Jerome enter the stage ) with Jimmy Jam as announcer-mc is redicously TIGHT !... i played that clip over & over again.
The soundtable-engineer at SNL mixed Jesse too late in that joint though , but once i heard his infectios rhythm-chops , and later his axxe-solo when Morris says "Cut 'm Jesse..." , then i totally lost it ( lol )

Anyway , i understood that they performed last Saturday at the Grammy's ... which i missed too see
Hope too catch a rewind soon ... did you see the show ?

Thanks for hanging ,
BJ

they were good on the Grammys, but why interrupt a rare performance by a classy soul/funk band with a song by one of these here today, gone tomorrow, can't tell one from another, one named "singers"?
