Okay, time to start a new thread for the upcoming Trocadero Transfer reunion dance party on Sunday, October 8, 2006. This event is simply titled "Remember the Party 5." Get behind the groove with DJ Jerry Bonham spinning the disco of the 70s and 80s Trocadero style!!!

Here's the new online poster for the party for your viewing enjoyment. More details can be found at www.remembertheparty.com . :D Hey Remicks, start taking your Vitamin C now so you'll be well when Oct. 8th comes around! :p

I'm happy to report we've received the okay from the club's owner to keep Remember the Party 5 going until 3 am! An extra 30 minutes for some morning sleaze. I don't have a problem with that! :-P

Keefelc ,
The website describes the upcoming night as:

REMEMBER THE PARTY 5 will be a night of classic GROOVE disco music of the 70's & early 80's,

I'm not so sure what that means .....GROOVE disco music .....can you clarify a little ? Any songs/artists you can pre- mention ???

Come on .... you must know something .......:);)

Or Roberta Kelly's "Zodiacs"! ;) Just for you, Remicks!

But seriously, if you listen to the music on the RtP website or on their telephone event line, you'll get a hint of the theme of Jerry Bonham's upcoming 9 hour set. I've been told of a few selections, but not many. They (the producers and Jerry) keep asking me, "Don't you want to be surprised???" GGRRRRR!! Oh well, less than 3 weeks.

Well, from what little I know about the playlist, I can offer this hint - think about what Troc classics you haven't heard yet at the last two helmed by Jerry Bonham. The "Behind The Groove" theme (the original name of RtP 5) was planned before last year's party, so JB intentionally saved tunes for the Groove party. How's that for a hint, Remicks??? :-P

Oh, btw, the version of "Behind the Groove" you hear on the website and the telephone Event Line is one of JB's custom edits!

Medium Rare Records just sent out a perfect description of the music for the party on this Sunday, so I'll quote them,

"Now, Remember the Party is back again, this Sunday night, October 8 from 6 PM - 3 AM. Get ready to tear the roof off the muthasucka' as this time the night will feature the hot underground sounds of Groove Disco---soulful, funky, deep, sexy with soaring vocals that merge the sacred and the secular into one steamy dancefloor destined to make you move your body."

Will we see you there? :D

Oh Remicks, when Jerry surprised us with Marvin Gaye, I immediately wondered if you were on the CROWDED dancefloor! Took the crowded a minute to figure out that he really was playing the song, then a HUGE cheer filled the room which happened time and time again throughout the evening (as Discovery can attest!).

Anyway, I created a new thread with the Playlist, courtesy of Jerry Bonham! :D
