| *****   Now I can surrender this forum in peace :    Bo Motors Full Speed Ahead : -----'Idol' runner-up Bo Bice rocked this cover of 'Vehicle,' originally recorded by the Ides of March (not Tom Jones, like you'd think) and now it's his second single. Take a ride with the Southerner who, much like Jones, has all the girls swooning. ..... If I hurry I can get to the store tonight to get my copy .... :P :P ***** |

| I watched the other night for the first time on Jay's Tonight Show a Live performance of "Vehicle" by Bo Bice, very nice effort, but some how for me his version doesn't compare to the original classic recording, maybe the Studio Recording fares better, I don't know, IMO It would've been much better if he came up with a 'revised' version instead of trying to match Ide's perfect version note by note, But then again, I'll bet most people today don't even know of the 30 year old original  , If anything I give him credit for exposing this new generations to some good music of the past. Back when this song first hit the radio I first thought Blood, Sweat and Tears had changed their name to The Ides of March, they are so similar in style, Tom Jones never crossed my mind back then, although I can hear some vocal similarities in there ; I also never considered this cut a “Dance” record, if this was played in any early Discotheques Clubs is news to me since I’ve never seen any charts listing this one, but who knows? .. |
