Arrow Panamera-The Family Porsche!

Today, Porsche finally revealed how the Panamera will look like. It's a 4-door Porsche and it will enter the competition with cars like the Aston Martin Rapide and the Lamborghini Estoque. After the Cayenne, this is another attempt to broaden the Porsche target groups. The Cayenne is a big success, so maybe this one will work too!

It'll be premiered at the Detroit Motorshow in January 2009 and will be available at the end of next year.

Johan,

I like this baby Cayenne. I think they did a nice job stretching it out. Not that I'm buying, but any pricing info? I'm figuring $125,000.(US)?

Bernie,

The official price is not known yet but I called a Porsche dealer and you figured right: it'll be something between $ 125.000 and $ 175.000.

My cousin drives a Cayenne and it's a damn good car. For families who don't like the 4x4/SUV stuff this could be the answer. BTW, the Cayenne is Porsche's bestseller over here, so....

Nice, very nice. Now it is really growing on me as it is something so different. I'll have to figure out a way to sell my VW GLI at least four times over to pay for the Porsche Panamera ;-(

I really like the looks of the Mercedes CLS-500, which we we able to borrow for a day while in LA a few weeks back. It was a sleek car and it certainly turns heads, but this Porsche is more my cup of tea. If only I could, if only I could...

Bernie, I forgot to ask. Did you like the CLS? I've never driven one as I'm a little afraid that tall guys like me are pretty close to the roof. But... do you know what I've tested today? A Maserati GT, AWESOME! Beautiful and lots of space.

That Maserati is absolutely gorgeous!!! That's what you call a drop dead beautiful car. I would almost kill to have one and I have never seen it in person yet! I could only imagine how it was to drive it.

As for the CLS, I was surprised at how roomy it was on the inside. I'm only 5'8" so it's hard to really comment on the headroom as I found it more than adequate, but you may find otherwise. Truth be told, I wasn't too thrilled with the interior as it was too much with the wood trim business. It certainly was a head-turner though!

Awesome!!! Thanks for posting the video as that really speaks volumes about the Panamera. Beautiful, fast and space and comfort for four adults...
