| It's in the showrooms and it has to sell, otherwise Jaguar is in big trouble. Now let me be very blunt! Probably it's a very good car. But...this is not a JAG, it's a sporty Ford Mondeo IMO (just compare both car's rear end!). There is not 1 touch of magic here. The magic that keeps Aston Martin exclusive. Even the XK was not a brilliant and legendary sportscar. The performance is excellent but it lacks the finishing touch. The sophisticated wood is replaced by alu to appeal more to younger potential buyers. Only 45000 will be build this year and it's probably the last model that'll be released before the new owners (propably Indian manufacturer Tata) will take over. This car has to compete in the segment where the Audi A6, the Lexus GS, the BMW 5 and the Mercedes E-Class are ruling. Personally I would order one of them before even considering to buy this 1 (I would pick the Lexus GS). I even prefer the new Mondeo over this one. Sorry Ford, sorry Jag! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| The front end looks somewhat Korean, and believe me, coming from me, that's no compliment. Obviously it could stand to have a more aggressive design. Johan, I can only assume you'd pick the Lexus because you already have all the others, and need an extra car (you don't mind crashing or finding burnt/molten) for when you have to park in Strasbourg on New Year's Eve!! Please tell me it's not for the design!!!! Jaguar long suffered a reputation for unreliability. When Ford overtook the company, they managed to solve the reliability issue by providing Ford- engineered engines, but never to restore the lost consumer's confidence. I wonder what Tata will achieve in the image/reliability departments....

![]() And no, I don't have all the others, still driving the Brabus Cl and my wife has a BMW 6 but I do have a 3rd car: a Citroën C6, that I use frequently and it's an absolute joy to drive, classy, very very comfortable and discrete! So that answers your question ![]() Quote:
