NRG, Belgians ARE very chique people And yes, it's fashionable here!

But...American cars! I always liked them. And last years they are releasing very interesting stuff. I do fancy the new Cadillac Range but I prefer the old school (just like Nicky I think). And I'm particulary charmed by Chrysler, the Crossfire but certainly this one

The Vettes have lost their appeal by changing the front too much (another thing I agree with Paul). The new Mustang is cool but not imported here yet. I hate the new BMW's, they're so ugly! I do agree that Japanese cars are very reliable but they are boring.

I stick with Porsche and Mercedes right now but I would like to have a go with this US beauty:

The man with the beard does not feel fear

Perhaps this is even a better view of those amazing Belgians in their flying machines:

Here's an interesting article about reliability.

1) Unfortunately the SUV concept was exported to Europe where we have tooooo many of the goddamned things.

2) Yeah, the unreliable Japanese cars ARE MADE IN U.S.A.

Are Americans ready for the massive take up of Diesel cars that's about to take place, now that ULS Diesel is now deemed OK by your (quick on the uptake ) enlightened government? Can you imagine what getting 45....50.....55.....60....65 miles per gallon in a turbo diesel car feels like?

Why are all car manufacturers replacing retractable headlights with normal boring ones? Retractable ones are so much cooler IMO.

When I was recently in New York people were complaining about the price of petrol there but you Americans still pay half the price we Brits pay! Is it any wonder I drive a car with a 700cc engine (it still goes fast though due to its light weight & turbo! 8) )
Ooh I love talking cars; after disco & men it's my favourite subject!

Oh no, you guys also collect models? Not only do I collect cars, but I'm into diecast buses as my family ran a small charter bus company back in the 70s. Check out my other site at
http://www.toybusexpo.com/
click on the "Related Vehicles" tab to see some of the cars, but I still have many others that are buried away in boxes.

Apparently they're worth so much more when they're in their original boxes if you ever wanted to sell them, but if you're like me Bernie you couldn't ever part with them. :P

Johan & SD,
Good to hear their are other model car collectors here. Do you collect cars only or other vehicles?

As noted they are worth more with their boxes and I have some of the more recent ones complete, but I'm the kind of person that will take them out of the package just to admire the detail... Never understood some who buy something and never open it :-? I do the same with records... if they are sealed I rip it open and play it! It's there to enjoy.

Yes i agree with you there Bernie. I never keep anything in its packaging; what's the point? I only collect cars; i never really got into trucks & buses & those bigger commercial vehicles; I never thought they were as glamorous as cars! 8)

Oh, so you want glamor huh? How about a 1959 Mack Greyhound bus with fins--yes, fins! Go to my other site...
http://home.earthlink.net/~bflop/clabus05.html
and scroll down to the last few photos. Looks great when paired with a '59 Caddy.

That Citroen DS is one of the most interesting cars of all-time. It was so ahead of its time: front-wheel drive, independent pneumatic suspension, aerodynamic styling, swivelling headlights, etc.etc. Even the small design feature of the rear lights situated at the back of the roof have started to be copied 50 years later! 8)

A car that I have always liked despite never having seen one in person is the Jensen Interceptor(?). The Avanti from the '60s was another.

Wow bernie, that bus is quite glam! I must admit that i always thought those US greyhound type buses looked quite cool. I never liked the red London buses though; they look like they may topple over at any minute!
