on the first mix..Jim Burgess at The Saint - 1985- what's the song between Melba Moore's "Standing Right Here" and Miquel Brown's "Close To Perfection"? It's the 6th song in the mix.

female vocal ...sounds like "This Crazy Love" would be the title

"This crazy love
I love it
It's the way love should be"

Who does that cover version of "Let Him In" the Paul McCartney song?

It appears on Roy Thode Tea Dance 1977 around 37:00.

This is a brilliant record. I discovered it on the gluck mix back in January and I tracked down a copy within a week or so and played it at the start of february at the peak of the night after a derrick carter record and the place erupted.

Those tapes have been a big influence in so far as Ive gotten into a lot of the early hi nrg stuff like venus dodson, carol jiani, katmandu etc. off the back of them

Does anybody know the names of the first 2 tracks off the Bobby V Trocadero 1979 mix?

the first one sounds a bit like Giorgio Moroder - I wanna rock you, except with a female vocal going 'Harmony....' over the top. The second one has another female vocal(a bit more brash though!) going 'im getting high on your love, baby im in love'. Theyre both brilliant records!

It's funny how the rest of the world is unfamiliar with some of songs that were pretty big dance hits here in the U.S. Conor, the 2 songs you're wondering about were BIG Troc favorites, Harmony is by Suzi Lane (and produced by Giorgio) and the second is "High On Your Love" by Debbie Jacobs.

I know I'm sounding like a broken record, but if you want to dance/listen to this kind of music in a club again, try to make it to one of the Remember The Party dances here in San Francisco. The dances are at the site of the Trocadero and the past DJs, Robbie Leslie and Jerry Bonham, have done their best to spin sets of classic and underground disco from the mid 70s to the early 80s. Jerry, in particular, studied Bobby Viteritti's old tapes and talked to Troc veterans to create a set that would have fit into Troc during its heyday without any problems.

One of your fellow countrymen (also from Dublin) came over for the second RtP party, and he's hoping to visit for more. :D

Believe me man, Id love to go to one of those parties but unfortunately Im a student by day and as such my budget is invariably restricted. Have been checking the site for a good while and the parties look great. It would be brilliant if you could get Viteritti to play one of those parties

Nice one for the IDS

Does anyone know the song on the Bobby V tape from Oct. '79
it's approx 25.00 on real player.

Lyrics are something like:

"I'm sentimental but don't betray me, with all the incidental music you play me."

Kind of a disco/new-wave hybrid.

Is it the song after "Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone"? OK, yes it is--I heard your lyrics....

That's Moonlight And Muzak by M (the "Pop Music" guy)

Trocadero played this quite a bit...early crossover to this New Wave style.

What's the third song after Debbie Jacobs?... something about "My numbers up...I came to dance" I like this one!!!! :D

Conor l

Magnifique was played at The Saint lots of times, a favorite of mine.

I believe it was played at the first or second reunion Troc parties in San Francisco last year, I was there.

There is a club in New York City that is having parties from Sept. to June web site http://www.souvenirsffrew.com/ this song was played at A Paler Shade Of White - The White Hearts Party.

Also if you come to the States in the summer " New York City " get on the http://www.seatea.com/ A Boat, when Robbie Leslie plays is mostly classics.

Nothing really going on here in Miami when it comes to Disco music. If anyone knows please let me know.
