Original Devil's Gun?

Hiya

I hope somebody can help identify a track i've been looking for, probably most of my life.

My parents originally recorded it off the radio in around 1974-75. I've managed to discover that a similar track was recorded by C.J and Co in 1977 called Devil's Gun. The track I have has the same lyrics and it does sound like the same group, but my version has a funky bassline and guitar. i have purchased numerous versions of the C.J and Co version with no luck in finding my version.

Interesting version. Since Dennis Coffey had a hand in the CJ & Co. version perhaps he did a version as well under his name so check that. Good luck.

Thanks for that Bernie. i think Dennis Coffey maybe still around doing stuff so i might try and contact him.

All the copies i have of C.J and co's version have "a Tom Moulton Mix" written on it. so maybe the one i have is before Tom remixed it.
