OK. Here's my once a year attempt to get this song. It kinda has a hip hop flavor in the music with a guy saying:
He be trying to save those suckers souls...,
Trying to get those mothers to the polls...,
Get their consent,
(Reagan says) I'll settle for just 2 percent!

Later there's a chorus that says:
He's got more juice than Jesse J.
He signs your monthly welfare checks!

Anyone heard this before?

I remember Prince did a funny song called "Ronnie talk to Russia" (Controversy LP) but don't know the lyrics.

Thanks dj_spinelli. I'll check into that. By the way, I noticed you're from beantown. Were you there when this song came out?

paul,

yes.. been here from day one (besides floating back and forth from chicago from time to time). it's funny though.. the major radio stations never played that particular song (or any others like it), only the college radio stations.

So true dj_spinelli. I usually heard it on Northeastern's station.

oohh? you remember 104.9 wrbb? one of the best radio stations ever (in my book at least). it may have had shitty coverage as far as strength is concerned, but the music they played was out of this world. i actually went there from time to time to visit one of the djs (jide max) that worked there and at 9 landsdown st. this guy was great mixer and remixer. i dont know if you were there around 84 to 87, but that's the time when they had nothing but mix shows and remixes playing all the time. i have many, many taped i recorded right out of the studio back then that i would love for someone like you to hear just to bring back memories of this station. the music was mostly stuff the major stations never played.. ie: jenny burton, strafe, beat box boys, art of noise, vikki love and all the funky bootleg 12 inch's like "i like percussion" by jack n madness and "bit & pieces". some other good djs back then on rbb were troy anthony and wallace t.

do you happen to remember 95.3 whrb in cambridge? (harvards radio station). they had some serious mix shows as well. both these stations reminded me so much of 92 ktu in nyc and 102.7 bmx in chicago at the time.

let me know if you want some of these tapes from rbb and ill gladly put them on cd for you or send them to you as mp3s.
