OK. Just rembered this lyric today. Wasn't there a song that went:

Default Beat the Clock & more....
It was from the 1979 Moroder produced Sparks album "Number One Song In Heaven". If you liked "Beat The Clock" the other 5 tracks on the album are all gems! "Beat The Clock" & "Tryouts for the Human Race" were both remixed for 12" release and were classic Moroder electronic tracks. A classic album! Sparks are still going strong and as an avid fan still I would recommend anyone who hasn't checked out their recent output to go search...you won't be disappointed.
