Jocelyn Brown "You're all I want for Christmas" - I have been searching for this song for ages now, without much success. i discovered it from a Christmas tape made by an old friend. The song has a classic Disco sound, 12" cut (goes for over 5 minutes), nice breaks and lush instrumentation, and said to be by Jocelyn Brown. Is that information correct, or I got it all wrong? Please help! many thanks in advance.

You're asking about one of my all-time favorite holiday songs. "YAIWFC" is actually by The Salsoul Orchestra from their ChristmasJollies II album, released in 1981. Lead vocals are indeed by Jocelyn Brown. I don't know about a 12" (if there is, I WANT IT! :) ) but the lp version reads 4:11 on the label. This song is everything you said and more. I blast it every year starting right in December. YOU'RE ALL, ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS / YES IT'S YOU I WANT TO SEE UNDER MY CHRISTMAS TREE :D Love her screaming that line as the song fades. Good luck on your search.

NickNack, I can not thank you enough for your reply and the most helpful info -- now the mystery is solved and the hunt for Salsoul Orchestra LP has begun :D This song, as well as Cold Magic's "Love, Christmas Love", and The Weather Girls' "DEAR SANTA BRING ME A MAN THIS CHRISTMAS" are my all time top Holidays disco favorites! Once again, thanks so much!

You're very welcome. I'm glad to see somebody else has a passion for this little gem. Everything about this song is on target and Jocelyn sounds so good. If I could change the lyrics I'd play it 24/7, 365. :D

"You're All I Want For Christmas" also appears on Hot Tracks: Series 9, Issue 8. i think the track was re-edited and extended somewhat, but i haven't played that version in years, so i can't swear by it. but you're right - it's a fantastic overlooked track.

Hmmm... this is a very interesting piece of information. Do you by chance remember if the song is actually titled by Jocelyn Brown "...." or it is credited to some other name? A friend of mine has exactly this edition of Hottrax, but he says that this song isn't there. If you could help me to confirm this, I'd be very grateful. I just HAVE to find it  P.S. I just timed the track from the mix tape is it 4:02
