Default "Party Up" or "Party Time"?

I was at a wedding this weekend and the dj at the reception played a disco song that I thought was really cool. But now 4 days later and I've returned home I can't really remember too much about it. It had everyone on the floor clapping and it had something about "Party Up" or "Party Time" or maybe both. It also seemed like a song I've heard before and since it was played at a wedding it's probably a fairly popular disco song. Wish I could give more details.

Default Partyup!!!

This is the one by Prince on the Dirty Mind album. Maybe that's the one you're talking about. Definitely a funky track....Prince -- old and new -- is my fave of all time. He da man and, Jehovah's Witness and all, he will always be a bad ass.....just a bad ass with class now. Peace!

Actually it's not Party Up by Prince. The more I've been humming it I'm starting to be pretty sure the chorus is not "party" anything. I have the melody of the chorus stuck in my head but don't know any of the words. It may be something like "party on" or "on and on" or something like that.... try ti imagine this in song :

be-cause on and on - <more lyrics> . . . . on and on <more lyrics>

Again, this song is a lot more popular than Party Up. I dont' think Party Up was ever a top 40 song, but the one I'm thinking of might easily have been. I was humming the melody of the chorus to my wife last night and she was like "oh yeah, I love that song... but I don't know what it is".

Just to let you know, nowhere in that song does it say "Party Up" or "Party Time".....Thank God it's such a popular song or else you would have never found it! =) Peace.

What a shock!

I just read this on an erratic surfing trip.

PRINCE -> Jehovah's Witness = ??? to me.

These two just doesn't jive, but it's apparently TRUE.

Does anyone have a theory on this???
