| Hi all! If you've seen the movie Boogie Nights back from 1997 Then you may remember this song. It was played in the very beginning just after the Emotions song "Best of My Love." William H. Macy enters, and this next song "Sunny" plays. This I know is the disco version of the original ballad song, but what I want to know is, who were the artists of that same disco remix? It sounds hot & I would like to find this album. BTW, "Sunny" isn't on the movie's soundtrack album on both volumes. Please if anyone could help I'd surely would appreciate it! Thanx all. |

| I believe the disco version of "Sunny" used in "Boogie Nights" was by Boney M (as I recall from the movie credits). A group called Yambu also had a disco version of the old Bobby Hebb hit from the 1960s and Hebb actually cut a disco cover also.

| Maybe I misread your reply, but when I heard it then there was no sign on Bobby Hebb sounding like a girl! (J-K) Indeed it was Hebb's song To me it sounded like a 70s orchestra and in that time they had it goin' on, period! I like Boney M too. I don't think I've ever heard of Yambu. Well I should do a google search on both groups, or find a way to download mp3s from them. I don't want to risk blowing money on bullcrap mp3s if they're not what I'm looking for (what a waste ya know?!) The funny thing about Boogie Nights was that at the end I never had a chance to see the end credits. Stupid me! But still I am determined. So I'll look into it this week. Otherwise please help me get a 100% guarantee on that jam! ANYONE! I'll get back to you Markydefad. Keep in touch if you're sure about that last post buddy. Peace out. |

| Uh, ok let me be clearer. 1) Boney M did the cover of "Sunny" in "Boogie Nights"--it's in the end credits of the film. 2) Yambu actually charted a disco cover of "Sunny" in 1975. 3). Bobby Hebb RE-RECORDED "Sunny" around that same time as a disco song--to get in on Yambu & Boney M's action.

| Ahhhhhh, guess what? I DO remember Yambu's "Sunny" version after all, it was more of a "dazz" song if you catch my drift. Very excellent orchestration! And not only am I getting Boney M's album, I'm also buying the DVD Boogie Nights also! Shoulda did this a loooooong time ago, what the hell was I thinking? LOL! Thanx a whole bunch Marky! |
