| OK I know there's another better version of this tune but I can't figure out who did it. My mind keeps on going back to George Duke for some reason. The song in question is 'IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT' I have a version of it on CD by Klinte Jones (he wrote it) but in my head I can hear a much funkier, heavier version. Maybe is was just a remix by Klinte Jones. Anyone know? |

| I don't remember there being a remix of the Klinte Jones. Maybe you're thinking of George Duke's 'Like A Thief In The Night' which was a little later, slightly slower and if I recall correctly, a tad 'heavier'.

| Forrce: No it's not that (another of my faves of its time). It's just that this CD version of Klinte Jones sounds so weak, compared to what I'm hearing in my brain. Maybe one day, I'll come across it. |

| OK. One side of the 12" is mixed by Bruce Forest and the other, Tony Humphries. Maybe that's where the difference lies. I know I still have this 12 somewhere, so maybe I can find it. I only managed to locate the Grace Jones Disconet last night, which I'd promised to put a sample up for on the main forum - but the thread's off the page now. If I find the Klinte Jones anytime soon, I'll resurrect this thread and post snippets of both mixes, to see if that jogs your memory.
