Default 1980 Facts of Life Disco

Hello to All: I was wondereing if you could help me locate a lost Disco Tune. In the 1980 episode titled "Who am I" of The TV Show Facts of Life, the final scenes showed Tootie & Carl dancing together in a contest. I am trying to discover the name of the disco song in the background & who performed it? I posted this on two Facts of Life Message Boards. Many seems to think the track was called:
"I'm glad you asked me to Stay" or "I'm glad I asked you to stay"
Do either of these sound familar?
Thanks, Doug.

Hi Doug,

WELCOME. Sorry, that doesn't sound familiar at all. Actually doesn't even sound like a title of a song  . Can anybody help with some lyrics?

Default 1980 FOL Disco Tune

"I'm glad you asked me to Stay" or "I'm glad I asked you to stay"
According to the FOL Message Board I posted on one of the two titles above should be the name of the song. Here's the problem, in order for the actors to have the lines heard by the audience background music is often instrumental. This way the case here. There were no lyrics sung at all. What makes the song so impressive is the background music. The only other insight I have is the song was featured in the 1982 film Goin' All The Way. What I might do is purchase a copy of the episode or record an episode from tv. I will extract the audio as an mp3 upload it for anyone to listen to.

Below is a link to a site selling the video of Goin' All The Way.

They list the tracks played and I guess the nearest to the title you want is Staying Together. Don't know who it's by though.

The only option is to extract the audio from either the movie or TV episode, convert the data to MP3, then upload, & provide a link for anyone to listen to. This is not an easy question to answer. I can appreciate that. Remember, when filming before a live audience, Tootie did place a record on the turntable, but the actually audio was overlayed from a studio. Has anyone ever heard of a song called "I'm glad you asked me to stay" or "I'm glad I asked you to stay" ?

Default FOL Disco

shady75: I was actually planning on trying to purchase the Facts of Life episode. I never watched the movie "goin' all the way." However, it is far easier to purchase the motion picture then the TV episode. I was told the song is heard in the film during a roller skating scene. I am taking a chance. That was the only disco music ever played on The Facts of Life show. However, in the late 1980s Stacy Q made a guest appearance. Once I have the song on video I will extract to MP3 audio data & upload. I will provide a link for anyone to listen to the track. There is no other way because only the instrumental opening of the song was played on the FOL episode from 1980.
