#1 - That's such a distinctive voice that I know I've heard elsewhere, but for the life of me I can't remember details....... a song with "don't you know a good thing baby, when it stares you right in the face" or similar comes to mind........aaaarrgghhhhh!!!! The voice is like a cross between, Cheryl Lynn, Gwen Guthrie and Evelyn 'Champagne' King.........aaarrrggghhhh!!!!!!!!

I'd take a stab at Brenda Jones - Can't Stop This Feeling.

#2 not a clue, sorry.

#1 sure sounds like Chaka Khan to me---but I can't place this song--and I think I have all Chaka's stuff. The title sounds like it should be "I Can't Stop This Feeling" or something like that. I don't know the record Quinny mentions by Brenda Jones. I never thought Brenda sounded like Chaka, however.

#2 sounds like it should be titled "Easier Said Than Done" but it's not the Shakatak song of that title. It's not the classic "Easier Said Than Done" by The Essex either. :o

No Marky, that doesn't sound like Chaka Khan. I think the clue is in the short chipmunkish phrase about two thirds of the way through, which might just place it at about the same time as NU SHOOZ - I CAN'T WAIT (and probably a thousand more I can't think of). I thought one of you Americans might just catch where the accent was from. There's a definite accent there, no?

I agree it's not Chaka Kahn.

I dont know if this will help, but both songs were recorded from "Dave's Dance music show", on Sunday afternoons on CKLN 88.1 in Toronto.
The first track is from 84-86 and the second 86-88

Well It does sound like Chaka Khan to me...although I know it"s NOT. :P

I know that "I Can't Stop This Feeling" by Cheri--it's a ballad --not this song.
