Default K-Jee by MFSB

Does anyone know if K-Jee by MFSB was every released on a 12"? I know its real old...pre-12" era, maybe a re-release? I like this cut from SNF--it has that real old disco sound to it. This song doesn't sound anything like TSOP or Love Is the Message. Did MFSB have songs similar to K-Jee?

Again, I doubt if this was ever on official 12" - I'd damn well make sure I had one, if it were! There's a bootleg 12" on Mix Service that's decent enough quality for playing out. Don't forget to check the Nightlighters' versions.

Hi Forrce,

in fact, The Nite-Liters version of K-JEE is the ORIGINAL one. MFSB's recording of the song is a "deluxe" remake. Here's some info about the song (cortesy of ALLMUSIC GUIDE. COM):
"An instrumental that everyone's heard but few know its title or the artist performing the infectious, joyful rhythmic piece. The title's "K-Jee" and it was written by Charles Hearndon, a member of the Nite-Liters, the songs' original artists; the Nite-Liters were part of the New Birth/ Love Peace & Happiness road revue, conceived by Vernon Bullock and ran with by Harvey Fuqua; a popular piece with high school and college marching bands, the tune's been redone by MFSB, who many think originated the song; the 1974 release only managed a number 17 R&B showing but is considered a rock instrumental classic."

Peace,

zeca azevedo :D
