There was a disco song sung by a girl, the words went something like this" Take me for a ride in...Rio Take me for a ride in New York Etc. etc. anyone have any Ideas who & what the title of this song is??

It's a long shot, but maybe 'A Night In New York' by Elbow Bones & The Racketeers is a tiny possiblity.

Yeah, I would say it's "A Night In New York" by Elbow Bones & The Rackateers. This was an August Darnell (Dr. Buzzard, Kid Creole) side project from 1983, I think.

Sorta big band sound..."take me for a night in New York"--very Dr. Buzzard & The Savannah Band in sound.
