Default Old disco sample. Very Very Good.

If someone can name what disco song is sampled here I would be very happy and impressed. It is one of the best melodies I ever heard.

Oh My God! Thank you so much. This song is unbelievable. I gotta get this record. Once again thank you. Does anyone else like it as much as I do? Can anyone point me to some disco that is similar to this? What is this type of disco called?

DjSolo, this cut was a huge club hit at the time, if I recall correctly there is a very good 12" remix that has a longer intro and more percussions, your link is dead so I can't tell which version is sampled

I found a 12'' Remix By John Luongo. Could that be it? What kind of Disco is this? Its definitely a different style than the Beegees and all that other crap.

DJSolo,

A lot of us back-n-the-day simply referred to this type of disco as "pretty music". It was light, airy, energetic and lushly orchestrated. In the large venue clubs like 12 West, Flamingo or Trocadero (right, Marky? :) ) this type of music would just soar to the rafters, making you feel you could do the same. I thought of a few artists that might give you a similar feel:

Teri DeSario - Ain't Nothing Gonna Keep Me From You
Cher - Take Me Home
Liquid Gold - My Baby's Baby
The Raes - Don't Turn Around
Johnny Mathis - Begin The Beguine
Ultimate - Touch Me Baby/Love Is The Ultimate
Amant - Hazy Shades of Love
Ray Martinez - Lady Of The Night
Martin Stevens - Love Is In The Air
John Paul Young - Love Is In The Air / Lost In Your Love
Jimmy Ruffin - Hold On To My Love
Ritchie Family - African Queens album and their first album with "Brazil"
Queen Samantha - Give Me Action / Close Your Eyes
Celi Bee - I'm Free / Fly Me On The Wings Of Love

This is a small list. Others might remember some more groups for you.

That is the right mix. The original 12" is from 1978 on Columbia/CBS Records, 23-10875. The 'b' side should be "I Got the Words, You Got the Music." The album is titled Marilyn & Billy, JC 35603.
