Default Need artists for two great songs.

Hi,

I'm looking to identify the artist of two songs, from the late 70s/early 80s.

The first one I believe is done by a group, which sort of sounds like Christopher Cross, but I'm not sure. Here are the chorus lyrics:

Does anything last forever?
I don't know,
Maybe we're near the end.
Tell me how, how
Can we go on together.
Now that we've grown apart.
It's the only way to start
...

The second one is more discoish and it's done by a guy. I believe the song is called "Americana" because that's what he repeats throughout the song. It's sung in English, and it goes something like this, bear with me:

Aa-mee-ri-caaa-na
ta-ta-ta-taaa-ta
A-me-ri-caaa-na
ta-ta-ta-ta
(repeat)

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Alvaro

"Americana" - was done by the GODFATHER of Eurodisco Alec C. Costandinos

"Americana, Americana, Americana she has her way"

Default Thanks discofrank

Aahh, Alec Constandinos, of course. I knew the singer's voice sounded familiar. That's a nice song.

Thanks!
Alvaro

PS, the other one I'm sure you've heard, but it's not really Disco so perhaps that's why the lyrics don't sound familiar. When I find out (*sigh*, I'll have to call the radio station that played it), I'll post the artist's name here.

I've heard that song before. it's something you would hear on a lite station. it could be michael mcdonald but I'm not sure. The title I would not know. I know it's something that came out in the late 70's, somewhere around the time I was born........Goodluck

It's me again. I just found your song, it's Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald & David Foster - Heart To Heart, I was right in the last post, Michael McDonald is one of the singers.....Adam

Lyrics:

Heart To Heart
Kenny Loggins
by Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald & David Foster

You ain't crazy
I ain't gonna lie anymore
What you're feelin'
there's a reason for
I wanna do right
Oh, I gotta do right
Do I love you?
Oh, you know I've tried
But what you're after
You can't find in my eyes
I wanna do right
Darlin'
Tell the truth
Don't turn away
This is our last chance
To touch each others hearts
Does anything last forever?
I don't know
Maybe we're near the end
Darlin' oh how can we go on together
Now that we've grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
One by one
We're collecting lies
When you can't give love
You give alibis
Now I'm gonna do right
This time I gotta do right
I don't wanna leave
I don't wanna say good-bye
But sooner or latter
There comes a time
When you gotta do right
Darlin'
Tell the truth
Don't turn away
This is our last chance
To touch each others hearts
Does anything last forever?
I don't know
Maybe we're near the end
Darlin' how can we go on together
Now that we've grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
Why are you so torn apart?
I need a little more lovin' in my heart
People say that love will grow
So how was I to know
Love that's come through years and years
Can't find a way back home anymore
(SOLO)
Darlin'
Tell the truth
Don't turn away
This is our last chance
To touch each others hearts
Does anything last forever?
I don't know
But maybe we're near the end
So darlin' oh how can we go on together
Now that we've grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart
Does anything last forever?
I don't know
But maybe we're near the end
So darlin' oh how can we go on together
Now that we've grown apart
Well the only way to start
Is heart to heart

Default That's it!

Adam,

You're the man! That's the one. I was just about to call the radio station (101.5 LITE FM here in Miami) when I decided to check back here first.

Since you're in West Palm Beach you can listen to the station as well. Once in a while they play a groovy tune like this one. Gotta love those saxophones.

Thanks my friend!

Regards,
Alvaro
