Default Song name & artist needed

I don't know much of the lyrics but its a chorus of women singin:

(verse 2x)
"The leaves were falling down
The sky was crying"

Its danceable, somewhat sugary possibly euro-disco.

Herb Albert made a nice instrumental track 1979-1981?(trumpet playing, maybe a harp?) with a slight Far Eastern flair. It has a moderate tempo and is usually heard on jazz stations. Can you name the song?

Hi HustleBaby..

The first song you are looking for is
Standing In The Rain" by Don Ray from the album "Garden of Love"..

Not sure about the second song..

Regards,
JJ

Sounds like Don Ray's "Standing In The Rain", from his "Garden Of Love" LP produced by Cerrone.

Edit: JJ beat me to it :)

Default Herb Albert made a nice instrumental track 1979-1981

Could it be "Rise" came out around 1979 or 80.

Hi Hustle, the Herb Alpert track may be "Red Hot", although that came out considerably later.

He also did a cover of "Skokiaan" with Hugh Masakela around 1978 or so, although that didn't go anywhere.

Default Herb Alpert Song

Maybe it's "Rotation", the song they released after "Rise".

I was thinking about Herb Alpert's "Manhattan Melody". It's definetely smooth and mid tempo but "Eastern Flair" - well I wouldn't say that

Hi everyone!

I'm still searching for that Herb Alpert track so I will let you know when I find it. I know the song "Rise" it's very popular but I'm not crazy about it however "Rotations" is a beautiful song so I added it to the must-get list. I haven't heard "Red Hot" or "Manhattan Melody" so the search continues..........

Btw, I like Herb's "Whipped Cream Delights" LP (1965?) girl on cover with whipped cream. Did you know that WCD is selling for over $100 dollars?

Thanks JJ and Graham :D !

It must be some rare or audiophile edition; this album has been in print for decades and sold in the millions...

Delight,

I think I got the right one this time: "Beyond", released in 1980. Surprised I didn't think of this as I really like it. And it does have a very slight "Eastern" flair to it. Although the tempo is up (128 bpm) it sounds moderate as the 4/4 is not in the front. This lets the music sort of drift over the beat. Check it out :D .

Graham
I saw "Whipped Cream" for $75 and "The lonely Bull" for $87 on Amazon.com. I know the LPs are older than me but damn a million dollars????? Was this at Sotheby's auction?

NickNack
I can't find "Beyond" but as I stated earlier, the hunt continues.......thanks for the tip.

JJ
I'm just a suprised as you are about the prices of Herb's LPs! Well I'm gonna check out Record Explosion and other stores in the city to see who has the best deal for "Whipped Cream".

Its the same in Europe Marky; I got Herb's 'Beyond' for next-to-nothing in an Amsterdam outdoor market. It's in really good condition too. (couldn't find any slings though )
