Default Please, tell me about these 2 ones

There's a disco song that contains a sample of the "Adams Family" theme. It's a long one and I think it's from early 80's. What's its name?

The song "Pump up the volume", by M.A.R.R.S., contains some vocals that were taken from a funky dance hit. A friend told me that its name is "Jungle love" or something like that. Does anybody know?

Thank you.

The first could be "My #1 Request" from Destination's 1979 album. Although they don't "sample" the Adams Family theme they do incorporate a small piece in at least two parts of the song.

As for the second, I know Ofra Haza was sampled, but there were several others that I don't know.

Depends which vocal sample you mean. Can you remember the words? That may help.
'Jungle Love' was an early '80s track by The Time, so this could be a possibilty for you.

Default Vocals on Pump up the volume

The vocals on "Pump up the volume" that I´m talking about sound like this:

"din da da do do do, din da da do do"
(8 or 9 times)

That sounds like 'Din Daa Daa (Trommeltanz)' by George Kranz. I haven't heard MARRS for a long time, so I can't confirm this.

Default "Addams Family" sample -- answer

Sort of right, but that "sample" was by Destination towards the end of the "Move On Up (suite).

Well, this is a busy weekend --- another new member. Welcome to the board, George. Glad to have you join us.

I think Bernie gave Discomano the correct info off the Destination album, From Beginning to End. "Move On Up Suite" is a combo of Curtis Mayfield's song and Destination's "Up, Up, Up". "My #1 Request" is a medley of three songs:

1. PUT IT WHERE YOU WANT IT
2. UNFINISHED SYMPHONY
3. FANTASY FROM MORTISHIA TO GOMEZ ADDAMS

I think we're all thinking #3 is the "sample" Discomano is looking for.

Default Thanks, NickNack

Hey NickNack,

LOL, I think we're all on the same page, that's for sure... and that's for the welcome. I'd actually "talked" to Bernie in the past when I worked for WEA in Burbank ... told him what a GREAT sight this is, especially for 70's and 80's DJ. (LOL, we won't "got there.")

hi guys, just my 2 cents but i just listened to destination's "from beginning to end album" which came out in 1979 and i dont think its the one we're trying to find. there was another version of the adams family theme song (83 or so) which was used alot on paco's super mix that i have on tape here in nyc. destination's only plays the beginning intro part. the one that came out in 83 plays the whole song. it wasnt disco sounding or even electro sounding. it was a straight rendition of the theme song. i will have to take a listen of it again.

Are you thinking of the movie soundtrack theme done by MC Hammer? Hmmm... that might be later than '83, not sure, but he did do the entire song.
