Default Disco Box Compilations

Actually, this is a question for anyone who has (or has heard) a set of compilations called "Disco Box." There are about 5 volumes and each has 25+ songs on it. My question is, are these the full length (or at least single length) versions or is it a continuous mix with only 1 or 2 minutes of each song? I am thinking of buying but I am sceptical that 26 3-4 minute songs would fit on one CD.

Default Disco Box - Single Edits!

Discodoc-

I was also planning on purchasing the disco box, for it has a wide variety of the mainstream disco, until I found all songs are in the single edit, or radio edit versions. Very disappointing. The collection is good for someone who would like to enjoy some of disco's most popular hits, but not for one who's searching for the beautiful 12 "s. I wouldn't buy the compilation, rather search for these songs on albums with the 12" versions. Check the 'Essential CDs' for some awesome albums. If your searching for rarer disco, I must recommend '70s Club Floor Classics', 'Disco Connection,' and any of the 'Disco, Funky, or Soul Collector' Albums. All 100% enjoyable!

This is a horrible bootleg DJ mix that sounds as though it came off a low-fi cassette. I know, I spent money on this crap and wish I hadn't To make matters worse I was burned twice because it also appears under another title as a double CD with different artwork :-( Pass on it and don't look back.

Forgot to mention something very important... Do not confuse the above with the legitimate "Disco Box" 4 CD box set from Rhino Records that comes in a book style case. Click the link below for info on that one...

just a rule of thumb if a cd has around 10 to 12 songs on a disco compilation it usually has the 12 inch versions.(given they've used the whole 80 minutes of the cd) anything with 15 or more songs is definitley short versions or edit versions of the songs.

Thanks, Bernie! You knew which "Disco Box" I was talking about! I actually bought Volume 5 and you are right, the sound quality is crap. I liked the mix of songs, actually, although there was a sudden gap between each track (where it was obviously meant as a continuous mix) as if the cd were a copy. Was yours the same or did I get a manufacturer defect? Obviously, this is from a very small record company.
