Default "I've Been Down That Road Before" Who sings this?

I'm trying ot find out who sang this 90's, possibly late 80's Hi-NRG song. I can't for the life of me remember and I want to get the song on CD if possible. I've done seacrhes, but to no avail.

Goes like:

"Cause I've, I've been down that road before. And I've, seen all there is to see." etc...

Anyone know the diva who sang this?

Please contact me direct at Junglered1@aol.com AND say "Hi Josh" in the subject box.

Thanks!!!

Those lyrics are SOOOOO familiar; this one's right on the tip of my tongue, but...

Maybe it's because I'm laughing too much over your screen name, Josh: "Jungle Red," indeed!

Marky...?

Hmmmm....

All that's coming to me is "Down That Road" by Shara Nelson....could that be the one? I can't listen cause I'm at work.

But I will take a listen tonight if no one else comes up with the answer.

Hmmmm... I don't think I'm familiar with that Shara Nelson song, Marky, so I doubt that's the one I'm thinking of. For some reason, I keep thinking Kelly Marie, but I have no idea why.

But Marky, what I really wanted you to notice at this post was Joshua's screen name. He told me not many people get the joke--but I knew you would, Crystal!

Oh, so it IS by Kelly Marie? I'll have to check my Passion CDs at home to see if I have this song.

I kept replaying those lyrics in my head last night--"'Cause I've been down that road before"--and all I could come up with was "I Am Woman"!!! Thanks a lot, Joshua!

Marky & Jeff -

Looks like you guys are having fun without me! The song is definetly not by Kelly Marie - I mean , maybe she has a song with the same title, but it's not the same song. ''

It's still driving me nuts!!! ':o'

Default Lyrics go something like this:

Cause I've, I've been down that road before.
And I've, seen all there is to see.
And I've, I've been down that road before.
Hoping that there's someone,
someone there who'll take a chance on me.

Here's what Kelly sings:

Cause I, I've been down that road before
And I've seen all there is to see
(I’ve seen all there is to see)
But I, I keep going back for more
Just hoping that there's someone
Someone there who'll take a chance on me
Maybe, maybe the tide will turn on me
Suddenly I’ll feel complete
The world at my feet
An answer to a dream

Hey there!

Those are the words! Maybe she did sing it and I've just gone braindead (again). I can't believe I'd forget that it was her. May she signs a different version... I looked on amazon and cant' find it. Any suggestions?

I must offer an apology! The version I have is by Astaire, and it's the back side of a bonus disc from the Passion Tracking V album (PADLP 105); the C side is "One Day The Sun Will Shine For Us" by - who else - Kelly Marie. My tape and the record sleeve were mis-labeled, but I dug the actual disc out of the store room and checked it, and it's by Astaire. Sorry about the confusion!

Whew - I thought I'd lost my mind!

Anywho - Astaire is not the version I was looking for, I don't think. The one I want is some diva singing it - sounds very much like the lines of Linda Clifford's "If my Friends Could See Me Now" - Nope, it's not her either.

Thanks anyway!

Joshua
