Hi again, this is Michael and... I'm going to try to be more clear with the description: I am looking for a dance/funk/disco song that I believe came out somewhere in the late70's early 80's. It was a mostly instrumental track, with a mid tempo--80 bpm?. THe vocals were definitely in the background and sounded much like male falsetto voices, possibly overdubbed. They were used more like an instrument, as an accent to the sound. Instruments: mainly synthesized keyboard (keyboard sounds faintly similar to harpsichord) and possibly string sounds. I don't know the name of performer or the song, and I am RACING MY BRAIN trying to figure it out. The only clues I have are the melody, and maybe some of the lyrics, which are few and repeat occasionally throughout the song. ONe of the repeating melodies (like a violin) goes something like this: daa da-da daaaaaa, daa da-da DAAAAAAA, da da da da C# B C# G#(below C# B C# G#(aboveC#) G# F# E D# c#) Chord progression: (harpsichord-like) C#M B C#M B F#M7 G#M7 C#M-B-A-G#M7 lyric melody: falsetto voices sung in unison daa da-da, daa da-da, DA-da d-da da-da-da, daa da-da C# B G# C# B G# C# B G# C#C# B G# C# B G# daa da-da, da da da da (repeat) C# B G# E D# C# B I don't even want to guess the lyrics, or try to give you a little, because honestly, it has been years since I have heard it (I mean around 20 years), so I dont trust my memory. Sorry. Needless to say, this song is not played on any stations that I know of, and I haven't heard it in quite awhile. I'd be a happy camper knowing the who, what, and wheres of this track. Oh, please, help!

I am completely familiar with the "da da da" song, being a teen of the 80's. The song I'm looking for is definitely not that one. Under the lyrics section of my message, that was just the melody/rhythm, not the actual lyrics. SOrry to be so confusing. I should have made it more clear. The song sounds a bit like Cerrone, but I know it's not. In addition, I editted my previous post and put more detail into it. If you could please peruse it one more time, I would appreciate it immensely. Thanks for the help tranzam and disco1999.

Maybe I was a little hasty about the keyboard sounding like a harpsichord. El Bimbo had an actual harpsichord sound. THe keyboard sound in the song I'm thinking of was very much synthesized, but for lack of a better description, the closest sound it resembled was a harpsichord, which is still very distantly related. Again, thanks for your diligence!

can you remember any words at all? even if its just one or two words we might have a shot. what does the song sound like? what other song would closely resemble the song you are looking for? is this song in a medley or megamix that you know of, if so let me know which one. here are some artists that i can think of that produce music like the one you are talking about: patrick cowley paul parker giorgio moroder

When I first began thinking about the song, I thought the lyrics went something like this: I got you, I got you, I got my eye on you I got you, I got you, da da da da (unknown part) I'm pretty sure I don't have them right, but I'm definitely sure that those lines--whatever they may be--are the only ones in the song. THe voices in the song sort of sound like Brother's Johnson, during the chorus of "Stomp". Soon, I will record the tune using what I know and post it here. Maybe then, the puzzle will be solved. Thank you again for your time. :)

I must say that the song above resembles the song I'm thinking of in some ways; however, the mystery song has more funk and groove to it. Heavier snare too. Again, thank you.
