Smile The closest thing to heaven?

I have this song in an old tape somewhere...It's NOT disco, it's a love-song from 1977, sung by a man. The refrain says "You are the closest thing to heaven I know, the greatest thing that happened to my life". There are many songs with this name (at eMule, Ares, 4shared, etc) but I never found this one. Any idea?

Dear Pulse, thank you for trying to help but I'm afraid the tune I'm looking for is not from Denny Greene. According to the site, his song is "disco style" and I look for a love-ballad. Secondly, his song has 3 minutes and 32 seconds, mine (at the tape) has 4 mintutes and 5 seconds.
Any other tips, folks?

Well, the style (Disco) is for the total album, not for individual songs, and a lot of disco albums got ballads on them.
As for the time: maybe your version runs to slow,
or the single version was a bit longer,
or their is a 12 inch somewhere
or Discogs is wrong (Discogs is an user-base site and it HAS errors in it).

All together: don't rule Denny Greene out for your reasons

Naa, hvad siger jeg nu? Although Denny Greene has a song called "Closest thing to heaven" and it is from 1977, I have a (bad) feeling that this is not the song I'm looking for. Anyway, I'll try to find this version to be sure. As I said before, there are several songs with this name but this is the first time that I hear about Denny Greene. Thanks again for the tip. Luiz

This song also was a track on Amii Stewart's "Knock On Wood" Album in 1979. The album was co produced by Simon May
