| I am looking for a 70's disco or funk song. I've got the tune in my head but I can't remember any of the lyrics. It features synthesizers, flute, horns, and guitar, etc. It's a catchy little tune. The vocals are solo during the verse and unison during the chorus, but I can't remember any lyrics. The flute notes are: C, D#, D#, D#, F, C, B(flat). The rythm is: dah dit dit dit dah dit dit. There is a separate synthesizer dominated part that has the following notes: B(flat), G, G#, B(flat). After that it goes back into the flute part. Okay, I know that's odd, but hopefully there is enough there for you. I won't be able to get the song out of my head until I hear the song again. Thanks. |

| The song featured all male vocals. The tempo was moderately fast...whatever that means. The main lyric was 10 syllables total. It was something like "I want..." That's all I can remember. The flute part is reminiscent of 'The Hustle' but it is not that song. Synthesizers and/or horns are featured throughout the song. |

| Maybe I was unclear in my earlier posts about the structure of the song I want Identified. I've heard this song on an oldies radio station so it is somewhat popular. I remember that there was a tradeoff between backup vocals and solo vocals in the song. If you have a piano or keyboard nearby you can try the notes. The structure is as follows (each part is two measures long except for the synth part): Flute part (C,D#,D#,D#,F,C,Bb) dah di di dit dah dit dit Backup vocals (something like 10 syllables) Flute part w/ solo vocals Backup Flute w/ solo vocals Backup Flute w/ solo vocals Backup Synth/horns part (Bb,G,G#,Bb,G,G#,Bb,G,G#,Bb,C,C#,Eb) dah di di dah di di dah di di dah dah dah dah Then back to the flute part and the pattern starts again. All male vocals, fast, from the 70's in disco or funk style. I have the tune in my head but no lyrics. Please help me id this song. |

| Ok, this is another long shot, but to me it sound like "I'm Glad That You're here" by Alphonse Mouzon from the Album "Morning Sun" (1981), quite popular dance track, very uplifting,( it remind me of "Ain't no stopping us now") is got all the elememts you're talking about, the flute, the distinctive background vocals and the solo sax in the middle. Let me know if I'm right

| "I'm Glad That You're Here" was not the track that I'm looking for but I think you've got the idea of the song structure. The tempo of "I'm Glad..." is pretty close to the song I'm looking for. I'm almost 100% sure it's a 70's song (probably 1974 to 1980). The horns/synthesizer part was not really a solo, it was featured several times during the song. The flute and synthesizer make this song unique. The lyrics are really sketchy in my head...I wish I could remember them. I just remember the notes. Thanks for your help. |

| Nobody last week could identify my song, so I made a clip of it from memory. The clip is 41 seconds long in MP3 format (671 KB). It can be found at: http://www.geocities.com/cpthomas100/mp3/ The actual file is Song.mp3. I didn't add drums because I'm not a drummer. You should get the tempo however from the bass line. Have fun. |

| Thank you NickNack for IDing the song!!! That's been bugging me for some months. I never would have thought of Boz Scaggs. He's more of a jazz artist I think. It would be nice if some of these radio stations would ID their songs. Also, now that I have listened to "Lowdown" some of the lyrics are buried in the song. Thanks again. cpthomas  |

| Glad to be able to help. If I'd kept up my piano lessons you wouldn't have had to create that clip. :)
