I think the title is Look me in the eyes,
can you identify this from around 1982, new wave track
background sounds a little like The Cult - I dig you (1981)
echoish and british accent male vocals going something like:
go go go go go . .
sip sip sip sip sip . . .
ah ah ah ah ah ah . . .
look look look look look look . . .
eyes eyes eyes eyes eyes . .

JOL,

The song you speak of is actually not by the Cure, but some of the members performing under the name Cult Hero. The song is called "I Dig You" on Fiction. The extended version has all those warrble effects... Sorry I don't know your song Disco1999.

Hate to argue Bernie but few web sites shows the artists to be "The Cure", they've released an album called Cult Hero, side A features "I'm a cult hero" side B: "I dig you"
but maybe you are right and the info is misinterpreted.

Thanks Bernie for the correction. When I downloaded the song it was listed as a Cure song. This is one of the songs that is on the Wally Macdonald masters. I'll correct the play list.

Disco 1999, Bernie is right. I just came from the Cure's offical web site and the song was released under the band name Cult Hero in 1979

Okay. My memory had it as being they went as Cult Hero similar to what they did with the Glove. I know I'm getting old :-( so I checked and here's what I found...

In december 1979 The Cure released a single under the name 'Cult Hero'. The single was titled "I'm a cult hero". On the B-side was 'I dig you'.

* The musicians on this side project were Robert Smith, Lol Tolhurst, Simon Gallup (although Michael Dempsey was still the bass player at that particular time), Porl Thompson and Robert sisters Janet and Margaret... The vocals were done by Frank Bell, a local postman.

What I was looking for is:

Roman Grey - Look me in the eyes (dance dub mix) 1983
