Unhappy Someone please help me!!!

Greetings to one and all! I am a new member to this site and would greatly appreciate any help in my quest for this song. When I was much younger I heard a song on the radio in Baltimore in the early, mid 70's. The song was in French with a Slow disco/r&b groove. I think it was about someone having an affair and getting caught. At the end of the song there were gunshots followed by the sound of sirens. After that it was someone (Police inspector?) talking in french about what happened. This song has haunted me for years and no one seems to know what I am talking about. Please help me!!

By the way, this site rocks! The songs on here bring back so many memories. I stumbled across it while searching the internet for this song
and I'm glad I did. Thanks in advance!

At first I thought you were referring to Jon Anderson & Vangelis' Friends of Mr Cairo, but that was done in '81 and there aren't any friend words (just saying that in case someone was thinking of it too).

Wow that was fast! Thank you very much for the input. This song is driving me crazy. There is another song that is driving me crazy as well. From the same time frame (70's) The hook of the song went like this...

"Here is my love, Is there a place in your heart for my love? Cherish my love." It was a duet, a guy and a girl. Kind of a funky, mellow bass line.
I hate to be a pain but I gotta find these songs!!

I think I can help.

#1) "Femme Fatale" - Saint Tropez... matches ALL your clues, except it's from 1982.

#2) "Here Is My Love" - Sylvester with Jeanie Tracy

Oh, yes! The final chapter in the saga of Jean, Nicole and her lover. "The woman assailant the Paris Police, as well as Interpol, are looking for."

Part 1: "Violation", from the Je Taime LP
Part 2: "Belle De Jour", from Belle De Jour
Part 3: "When You Are Gone", from Belle De Jour
Part 4: "Femme Fatales" from Hot and Nasty

Naaahhh... I wasn't into St. Tropez, much.

WOW!!!! I had no idea there were four parts to the story! I have been doing some more research on this group and I am even more of a fan. I have been able to find snippets of the above songs (except for "When you are gone") and they are amazing!
"Violation" is beautiful and "Belle De Jour" is too. Thank you so much for helping me AND enlightening me. This has turned out better than I could have hoped. I will definitely be purchasing all four albums. This website is incredible!!
