Default please help a newbie

Just wanted to say hi to everyone, came across this website by accident and boy am i glad i did. Lots of useful info here thanks to the people here.
This song i'm guessing was in the late 70's early 80's i'm not positive when. The lady singing it sounds like a Cheryl Lynn type or a Cee Cee Penniston type lady but i'm not sure. The song is an upbeat fast medium tempo and goes as follows:

My mood may be grey
i'm on a loss of positive things to say
until another day
loneliness has reached its peak
and my legs are feeling so very weak
i dont want to loose it

chorus:
I try to control my life
i wanna hold on to good inside
i got to believe
got to believe

People say i could be number 1
i could have any thing i want under the sun
they say your a winner
i found it hard to believe in myself
went inside and turned into somebody else
i turned into a winner

chorus
chorus

No doubt i believe in myself
going to let this life speak for itself
i'm a winner
i'm a winner
i'm a winner
number 1
under the sun they say your a winner

chorus

you can be too just believe your a winner (three times)
are a winner

That the song my daughters thought i was crazy stopping and starting the cassette player so many times lol. But if anybody has any idea who sang this song, i'd like to but a itune file on it. Many thanks Jay

Hi
Welcome :-)
So..am I right in thinking you have a cassette with this on? Is there anyway you could get someone to transfer a snippet to MP3 and post it on here? I've googled those lyrics but can't find anything

you're mixing up two Sharons with colorful last names!!!

The track you asked for"You're A Winner" is by Sharon Redd...Sharon Brown did "I Specialize In Love."
