| Hello disco lovers, I really need your help! I had this cassette tape which my father bought while travelling overseas in the 80's. When he brought it home, I loved listening to it as a child but we lost the tape after a while. Now I'm almost 3o years old and I really miss the songs... but I guess they were rare classics since even radio stations never played these songs. Luckily I ended up identifying a few songs with some help of my DJ friend: "On the road again-Barrabas(1981)", "When she was my girl-The four tops(1981)", "Don't stop your love-Kelly Marie(1981)", "Kabaka Shaka-Roberta Kelly(1980)", "Let's Groove-Earth Wind and Fire(1981)". Now here are the songs that I still haven't identified. Let me discribe them. Actually I didn't speak English as a child when I listened to the songs. So the lyrics I remember don't really make sense. Please don't laugh. Song #1: The lyrics sound like this. "The world is world is sexy(sensy?) world is dance. Mamama please call me, mama mamama call me (a male voice modified to sound like a robot) .... Let's do it, let's do it, let's do it together~(girls doing chorus)" The song is very cheerful and upbeat. Song #2: The song is sung by a bunch of girls (probably African) and it's mostly chants. I don't know if there were parts that were in English but the only part I remember is this chant that sounded like.... "Rah ha ha woo, rah ha ha. Guri guri guri guri Rah ha ha. Ai kah yah yoo, yai kah yai ya wooga wooga hee hee hee." This part sounded like a bunch of young girls' chant but there are parts that sounded like a slow solo rap done by a more mature woman. It is a very odd and unique song. So unique that I didn't like it too much at first but now I would be so happy to listen to it again! Song #3: This song would be the most difficult to identify. I only remember the rhythm and the melody and the very first part that sounded like "Oh~ body! (or No~ body!, or Oh~ buddy!) I think it was a female singer that sounded kinda tough, masculine and passionate. It's a fast dance music that has the late 70's or early 80's typical flavor. Please note that these songs were all in the same tape and the cover title was either "disco hits 1983" or "Greatest dance hits 1983" or something very similar, even though all the songs in the tape so far were released in 1980 or 1981. Also, I know the chances are low but in case one of you guys have the exact same album, I want to describe the cover of the tape. It's a photo of a woman's beautiful full-length legs (from waist to bottom) in a pair of red, shiny, tight leather pants and red ankle boots taken from the back. Thank you so much for reading this long thread. This tape really means a lot to me and identifying these music will bring my cheerful childhood memory back! If you know any of the songs, please please help!!! |

| Hi Charlie I tried to listen to it online and couldn't find any link or file available. It turned out the song was something else, though. But thank you so much for your input. I'm very impressed how people are willing to help others here. May good karma be with you! |
